George Cole (born 22 December 1995 in Basildon, Essex, England) is an attacking midfielder who formerly played for Chelsea.
George joined Chelsea's academy at Under-11 age.
George made his Under-18 debut as an Under-15 at the back end of the 2010-11 season and made further appearances during 2011-12. His playing time as a scholar was initially limited but when he was on the pitch, he managed to find the back of the net with impressive consistency. A consistent run of fitness after an injury layoff allowed him to make further progress later in the campaign, playing either in a central midfield role or wider in attack.
A regular in the Under-18 team at the start of 2013-14, he found the back of the net with consistency early in the season and his development was such that he was given a professional contract, having initially missed out during the summer when many of his team-mates signed theirs. A good start unfortunately gave way to a long-term injury that sidelined him for most of the second half of the campaign.
In July 2014 he joined Brighton on a permanent basis.
George has been capped by England at Under-16 and Under-17 level.
