Arthur John Smith, commonly known as Jack Smith, (27 October 1911 - 7 June 1975) was a Welsh player who played for Chelsea prior to the Second World War, having signed from Swindon Town. Following the War he became West Bromwich Albion's first full-time manager, taking the side back to the First Division in 1949. He was dismissed in 1952 and went on to manage Reading, replacing future Chelsea manager Ted Drake.
