In August 2007 the Chelsea Youth team played in probably the most influential tournament to date – The Champions Youth League, played in Malaysia. This was as an Under-19 side and, having finished third in their group, they were eliminated.
In May 2008 they returned to Germany to again play in the Spax Cup but lost to FC Shalke 04 in the play-off for 3rd./4th. place.
They also played just a couple of friendly matches.
