Dennis Butler (born 7 March 1943 in Fulham) is a former full back who played for the Chelsea first team between 1961 and 1963, having joined the club as a youngster. A local lad, he appeared for Chelsea regularly in the FA Youth Cup between 1958 and 1961 (he was a member of the 1960 and 1961 FA Youth Cup winning sides), before making his first team debut later in 1961 at the age of 18. He went on to make 16 appearances over the course of the 1961-62 season, after which Chelsea were relegated, but with competition for places fierce at full back, with Ken Shellito and Eddie McCreadie among those in his way, he made just two appearances in the 1962-63 season and left to join Hull City in June 1963 for a fee of £6,000.
