Collins dislocated his shoulder and was replaced by Dick Whittaker in goal, letting in one goal. After half-time Robert Mayes went in goal and let in the second goal. Mike Collins finished the match on the wing.
In the meatime, prior to Collins’ injury, Benny Jones had to go to hospital to have an eye stitched but resumed playing when he returned to the ground.
