Juan Sebastián Verón (born 9 March 1975 in La Plata, Argentina) is a former Argentinian international midfielder who played for Chelsea during the 2003-04 season, having signed from Manchester United for £15m. Despite his reputation as one of the finest creative midfielders in world football, as at Old Trafford he failed to adapt to the English game and made 14 appearances in total for the Blues, scoring once. He remained on the books at Chelsea until 2007; he was loaned to Inter Milan for what turned out to be two seasons, before returning to his first club Estudiantes in Argentina, initially for a season-long loan before joining permanently.
