Third team friendlies
From TheChels.info - The Chelsea Football Club Wiki
Over the years since the club came into existence in 1905, the Club have frequently had sufficient players to be able to play three games on the same day. In these circumstances Third team friendlies exist. Some of these were as a way of thanks (transfers, etc.), some by way of testimonials, and some simply in order to give some of the players a run-out.
This is not necessarily a comprehensive list as, during the inter-war years, there is still a lot more investigation necessary.
