The 1970 FA Charity Shield was contested between FA Cup-winners Chelsea, and 1969-70 League champions Everton on 8 August 1970. As with Chelsea's only previous appearance in the Charity Shield in 1955, the match was played at the Blues' Stamford Bridge stadium.

Everton won the match 2-1, goals from Alan Whittle and Howard Kendall either side of half time giving the Merseysiders a 2-0 lead, before Ian Hutchinson pulled a goal back late on.
