John William Hollins (born 16 July 1946) was a midfielder who was part of the successful Chelsea side of the early 1970s, winning the FA Cup and UEFA Cup Winners' Cup in consecutive seasons. He was voted the club's Player of the Year in 1970 and 1971. In total he made 592 appearances for Chelsea, behind only Ron Harris and Peter Bonetti, and set a club of record of 167 consecutive appearances.
Hollins returned to Chelsea as player-coach in 1983, before taking over from John Neal as manager in 1985. Despite a credible 6th place finish in his first season, his next two seasons were characterised by poor results and fall outs with key players, culminating in a five month spell without a league win, and he was dismissed in March 1988.
