Pre-Chelsea career

Dynel joined Chelsea as an Under-14 after being spotted playing local football in Southampton.

Chelsea career

Dynel made his Under-18 debut as a schoolboy in 2017 at home to Fulham. A regular at the heart of the youth team's defence as a first-year scholar, he took further steps in 2019-20 and captained the Development Squad before the season was curtailed due to Covid-19, establishing himself as a regular in a title-winning team before going on to make the first-team bench for a Champions League tie away to Bayern Munich. He served as captain for much of the 2020-21 campaign but rejected a new deal at the club and signed permanently for Southampton in July 2021.

International

Dynel has represented, and captained, England up to Under-19 level. He is also eligible to represent Cameroon.
