Before Chelsea
Sancho joined Borussia Dortmund in August 2017. He made his professional debut later that year and quickly established himself as one of Europe's most exciting young talents. In the 2018–19 and 2019–20 seasons, Sancho delivered standout performances, recording double figures in both goals and assists. He was named in the Bundesliga Team of the Season and became the youngest player to reach 30 Bundesliga goals.
In July 2021, Sancho signed for Manchester United for a reported fee of £73 million. Despite flashes of brilliance, he struggled for consistency under multiple managers. By the 2022–23 season, limited playing time and a public disagreement with manager Erik ten Hag led to Sancho being dropped from the squad in September 2023. He returned to Dortmund on loan in January 2024 for the remainder of the season, showing improved form.
Chelsea
On 31 August 2024, Jadon Sancho joined Chelsea on a season-long loan from Manchester United, with an obligation to buy for £20 million plus £5 million in add-ons—triggered if Chelsea finished in the Premier League’s top 14.
He made his debut on 14 September against Bournemouth, assisting Christopher Nkunku's winner and earning Man of the Match. Sancho followed with assists in back-to-back wins over West Ham and Brighton, and scored his first Chelsea goal in a 5–1 win vs Southampton on 4 December, followed by a long-range strike in a comeback win against Tottenham.
In Europe, he scored in the Conference League semi-final against Djurgården and again in the final vs Real Betis on 28 May 2025, contributing to Chelsea’s 4–1 victory and title win. However, on 3 June, Chelsea declined to make the move permanent, instead paying £5 million to cancel the obligation.
