Pre-Chelsea career
Tom was a participant in the second series of Football Icon, which was won by Carl Magnay. He finished third behind the eventual winner and runner-up Stuart Gates, but was offered a six-month contract due to injuries in the Under-18 defence.
Chelsea career
His career at Chelsea was brief, but he played eleven times for the youth team, starting ten of them, at either centre-back or left back.

Tom was released in the summer of 2007 and has since made his way around a number of non-league teams, including most recently Kingstonian, Carshalton Athletic, Hayes & Yeading and Met Police as well as contributing to the work done by the Chelsea Foundation. He joined Basingtoke Town in the summer of 2014.
