Pre-Chelsea career

Xavier came through the ranks at his local team MVV Maastricht, playing in the Dutch Second Division. A trial at Chelsea in 2019 came to nothing because of a transfer ban but, after a year with Barcelona, he eventually moved to London in August 2020.
