Pre-Chelsea career
Ambrose joined Chelsea at Under-14 level.
Chelsea career
Ambrose made his Under-18 debut as an Under-16 during the 2011-12 season, making a total of three appearances. He became a squad regular in his first year as a scholar in 2012-13, showing versatility to play on either wing as well as left-back on occasion. As the season developed he impacted matches on a more consistent basis and earned his first appearances at Under-21 level in April 2013.
He struggled to feature in pre-season ahead of the 2013-14 season and even appeared as a trialist for Crystal Palace, but he started the new campaign in blue and found immediate form. His nine goals before Christmas was a huge increase in production and earned him Under-21 and UEFA Youth League consideration and representation. Curiously however, he barely made an appearance in the second half of the year and instead was allowed to go away on trial at the likes of Ipswich Town with his Chelsea future evidently bleak.
He was released at the end of his contract in June 2014.
International
Ambrose has no international representation to date.
