Bolton Wanderers vs Chelsea was a Second Division match which took place on 7 May 1983. Winless in nine matches, Chelsea were plummeting towards relegation to the Third Division and with it possible extinction. They went into the match against fellow strugglers Bolton lying in 19th place. As the game was petering out into a 0-0 draw, Clive Walker received the ball just outside the penalty area and lashed a shot into the top corner to secure one of the most important wins in Chelsea's history.
