Pre-Chelsea career
Nikki joined Chelsea's youth academy at a young age.
Chelsea career
Having played in central midfield as a junior at the club, Nikki initially adopted that role in the Under-18 team, but as with a number of players, moved around the pitch in a bid to find out where he would play best. He settled at full back, most often on the right but occasionally on the left. Nikki showed enough promise to earn a promotion to the Reserve squad in mid-2009, and was named on the club's 2009-10 Champions League squad list. He was assigned the squad number 47.
International
Nikki is eligible to represent either Sri Lanka or England.
