Nils Middelboe (5 October 1887 – 21 September 21 1976) was a Danish international who played for Chelsea from 1913 until 1922. He was the first foreign player to represent Chelsea, and such was his reputation he was handed the captaincy by his teammates upon his arrival at Stamford Bridge.
