Nortei Nortey (born 29 October 1994 in Hammersmith, London, England) is a defender who formerly played for Chelsea's academy.
Nortei was a relatively late arrival to the club's academy, joining them at Under-15 level.
Able to play at either full-back position, the athletically gifted Nortey made his Under-18 bow early in the 2010-11 season. Unfortunately, he suffered a knee injury which ruled him out for eight months, only allowing a brief comeback at the end of the season.
Nortei injured his other knee in August 2011 and was set to miss most of the 11-12 campaign, but his recovery rate proved to be superb and he returned to action in January 2012. The same problem struck again in 2012-13 though, and he missed the first half of yet another season. Despite returning to play for the Under-18s and Under-21s later in the season, he was released at the end of his scholarship.
Nortei had no international representation during his Chelsea career, but is eligible to play for England or Ghana.
