Pre-Chelsea career
Xavier joined Chelsea when Brentford closed their academy in 2016.
Chelsea career
Xavier officially made his Under-18 debut at the end of the 2017-18 season in a match against Arsenal that saw both clubs use Under-15 squads. He made two more appearances in 2018-19 while captaining the Blues in the Under-16 Premier League Cup Final win against that same Arsenal team. His partnership with Lewis Bate in midfield provided the foundation for a strong Under-18 team upon becoming a scholar, while he also featured for the Development Squad as a 16 year-old.
A serious knee injury suffered at the start of the 2019-20 season saw him miss more than a year of action but, three months after his return, he made his senior debut under Thomas Tuchel in a League Cup tie away to Brentford, where he played an hour at right wing-back. Back to fitness by the end of the campaign, he joined Hull City on loan for the 2022-23 season, making the move permanent in March 2023.
International
Xavier has represented England to Under-20 level.
