Pre-Chelsea career
Aldi joined Chelsea at the age of 12.
Chelsea career
Aldi was part of the Chelsea squad in the Northern Ireland Milk Cup of 2005 as a very young backup and after establishing himself as the regular goalkeeper for the Under-16 team, was handed a scholarship in 2008/09. However, a goalkeeper logjam meant opportunities were rare, so he became a rare player to go on academy loans, firstly on an emergency at Aston Villa, before playing three games at Bristol City. When he returned, he kept goal for the Reserves in a 4-3 defeat at Aston Villa.
In 2009/10 he received some unexpected playing time when Sam Walker broke his foot. Later in the same campaign he spent a week on loan at Birmingham City.
International
Aldi has never represented an international team, but was called up by the Albanian Under-21 team in May 2010 for a friendly against Poland. He was an unused substitute.
He is also eligible for England and Albania, and whilst he is naturally also eligible for Kosovo, they are not a FIFA member nation.
