Pre-Chelsea career
Faiq, the nephew of the 29th Sultan of Brunei, joined Chelsea in 2014 after spells with Arsenal and Reading.
Chelsea career
Faiq made his Under-18 debut as an Under-16 in March 2014 against Fulham and racked up half a dozen appearances by the end of the season. He was mainly used as a substitute in his first year as a scholar in 2014-15, scoring a couple of goals but struggling to hold down a regular starting berth for much of the season.
After struggling just as much at the start of the following season Faiq departed Chelsea in search of a professional contract elsewhere.
International
Faiq has represented Brunei at Under-19 and Under-23 level. He is also eligible to play for the United States.
