Before Chelsea
Loïc Rémy began his professional career at Olympique Lyonnais, where he made his Ligue 1 debut in 2006. After limited playing time, he moved to RC Lens on loan in 2008, and then transferred to OGC Nice, where he established himself as a fast, direct striker with a keen eye for goal. His performances earned him a move to Olympique de Marseille in 2010, where he scored 42 goals in 111 appearances and won the Coupe de la Ligue. In 2013, he moved to Queens Park Rangers in the Premier League, scoring regularly in a struggling side. After QPR were relegated, he spent the 2013–14 season on loan at Newcastle United, where he scored 14 Premier League goals in 26 appearances. His proven top-flight record attracted interest from several top clubs, and in August 2014, he signed for Chelsea for a reported fee of £10.5 million.
Chelsea career
2014–15 Season
Rémy joined Chelsea under José Mourinho as a squad striker to support Diego Costa and Didier Drogba. He made 19 Premier League appearances, mostly off the bench, and scored 7 goals, including key strikes in wins over Swansea City and Hull City. He also scored the winner in a 2–1 victory over Stoke City late in the season. Though he was not a regular starter, Rémy’s ability to make an impact as a substitute was valuable during Chelsea’s successful title-winning campaign. He also played in cup competitions, bringing his total appearances to 29 in all competitions, with 9 goals. Chelsea won both the Premier League and the League Cup, with Rémy contributing crucial goals at important moments throughout the season.
2015–16 Season
Rémy remained part of the Chelsea squad but saw fewer opportunities as injuries and tactical changes limited his role. He made just 13 Premier League appearances, scoring 1 goal, and featured 20 times across all competitions, with 3 goals. With Diego Costa and Loïc Rémy both suffering from injuries and inconsistency, the team struggled overall, finishing 10th in the league in a disappointing title defence. Rémy's playing time was further limited by the emergence of young striker Bertrand Traoré and Chelsea’s managerial turmoil during the season.
Loan to Crystal Palace and departure
In search of more regular playing time, Rémy joined Crystal Palace on a season-long loan. However, an early injury delayed his debut, and he managed only 8 appearances across the entire campaign without scoring. The loan was largely unsuccessful, and he returned to Chelsea before being released at the end of the season.
