Pre-Chelsea career
Jack joined Chelsea from Reading at the age of 13, when he headed in the same direction as Brendan Rodgers when the Ulsterman moved clubs.
Chelsea career
For much of 2006/07 he played at the heart of the Under 16s defence. Always very vocal, he provides a friendly and encouraging voice to his team-mates, keeping spirits high and attention focused. His performances throughout the season earned him an early Under-18s call-up, a precursor to an inevitable scholarship at the end of the season. It duly arrived, off the back of decent Under-18 showings.
He slotted in at the heart of the Under-18s defence for the 20007/08 campaign, developing physically as well as mentally and technically. Towards the end of his scholarship it was decided that the club would not retain his services. A deal was arranged to sign with Southampton, and in April 2009 Jack agreed a three-year deal at St. Mary's Stadium.
International
Jack has not represented England at any level.
