The Metropolitan League had two subsidiary competitions, one being the Metropolitan League Challenge Cup and the other being the Metropolitan League Professional Cup.

With regard to the Metropolitan League Professional Cup Chelsea were quite successful, being losing semi-finalists on one occasion, and winners in no less than four of the seven seasons that they entered the competition.
