Pre-Chelsea career
Phil joined Chelsea at the age of 10.
Chelsea career
Whilst James was a versatile player, Phil was accustomed to playing in a more attacking role and became quite prolific in front of goal through the junior age groups, earning a scholarship in 2003. He was one of the side's more dangerous players and quickly moved into the reserve setup, where for a while he was still the most potent attacking threat, but he struggled to take the next step.
He moved back into midfield towards the end of his Chelsea career but after showing no signs of progress, and after a loan spell in Denmark at Esbjerg fB in 2007-08, was released at the end of the season.
International
Phil has represented The Philippines since 2006, being eligible due to his mother hailing from the islands. He is comfortably their leading goalscorer of all time.
