Josh Grant is a defender currently playing in Chelsea's Academy team.
Josh joined Chelsea as an Under-8.
Josh made his Under-18 debut in March 2014 as an Under-15 and emerged as something of an Under-18 regular as a schoolboy in 2014-15. That gave way to him being the regular Under-18 captain in league matches for Joe Edwards in his first season as a scholar, one that included 2015-16 FA Youth Cup and 2015-16 UEFA Youth League successes, and finished with an Under-21 debut as he confirmed his place on lengthy list of talented young defenders in the academy. Amongst his season highlights were signing a first professional contract and claiming four assists from right-back in a game at home to Swansea City.
He spent much of the 2016-17 season building upon that quiet progress, captaining Jody Morris' youth team and providing versatile enough to play in any and all defensive roles asked of him. Injuries impacted his efforts to step up to Development Squad level as well as feature in the bigger matches towards the end of the season, but he was on the pitch to help the Blues clinch a first league title in 33 years to complete a stunning treble.
Josh has represented England at Under-18 level, travelling to South Korea for a tour in the summer of 2016.
