Before Chelsea
Malo Gusto began his journey in youth football at AS Villefontaine and Bourgoin-Jallieu before entering Lyon’s prestigious academy. He progressed swiftly through the youth ranks and signed his first professional contract with Lyon in December 2020. Gusto made his senior debut in January 2021, and by the 2021–22 season, he had become a regular in Ligue 1 and European fixtures for Lyon, earning acclaim for his pace, attacking movement from right-back, and technical quality.
Chelsea career
2023–24 Season
Chelsea signed Gusto in January 2023 on a long-term deal but loaned him back to Lyon for the remainder of the season. He made 17 appearances for Lyon after the deal was completed, finishing the campaign as one of Ligue 1’s most promising full-backs.
At the beginning of the 2023-24 season, he officially part of Chelsea’s squad, Gusto quickly adapted to Premier League football.
