His progression through the ranks saw him make his senior debut for Villarreal in 2021. Jackson made his first-team debut for Villarreal in La Liga during the 2021–22 season. Over the following seasons, he began to establish himself as a key player for the Spanish side, notably in the 2022–23 season when he became a standout performer.
His most significant achievement at Villarreal came in the 2022–23 UEFA Conference League campaign, contributing to Villarreal's run in Europe. His performances earned him attention from some of Europe’s top clubs.
Chelsea career
2023–24 Season
In the summer of 2023, Jackson joined Chelsea FC on a long-term contract for a reported fee of £32 million (with add-ons). The move was part of Chelsea's ongoing efforts to strengthen their attack, following the departure of several attacking players in previous transfer windows.
On 13 August, he made his debut for the club in a 1–1 draw against Liverpool. Jackson's first goal for Chelsea came in a Premier League match against Luton in August 2023, where he opened his account with a calm finish.
Nicolas Jackson's pace, versatility in attack, and composure in front of goal made him an important addition to the team under manager Mauricio Pochettino. His debut season in the Premier League saw him demonstrate his talent in various attacking roles, including as a central striker and wide forward. His performance during the early months of the season showed his potential, even though Chelsea faced a period of transition under a new manager. His work ethic and commitment were frequently praised.
2024–25 Season
Entering his second season, Jackson remained central to Chelsea’s attack. He made 30 Premier League appearances, scoring 10 goals and providing 5 assists. In total, he featured 37 times, recording 13 goals and 6 assists. He opened the scoring in the Conference League semi-final, helping Chelsea secure a place in the final, and scored in the 4–1 Conference League final win over Real Betis. However, his season was marred by two straight red cards—one in a Premier League match and another coming on early in the FIFA Club World Cup. Despite incidents, he finished the season with strong numbers and helped Chelsea win European silverware for the first time since 2024.
