Before Chelsea

Mudryk began his football journey in the academies of Metalist Kharkiv and later Shakhtar Donetsk. He made his senior debut for Shakhtar in 2018 and spent time on loan at Arsenal Kyiv and Desna Chernihiv to gain first-team experience. After returning to Shakhtar, he broke into the starting lineup during the 2021–22 season, quickly becoming known for his electric pace, dribbling ability, and creativity on the wing.

Chelsea career

2023–24 Season

On 15 January 2023, Mudryk signed for Chelsea on an eight-and-a-half-year contract for a reported fee of around €70 million (£62 million) plus potential add-ons, after Chelsea beat off competition from Arsenal. His arrival was seen as part of Chelsea’s major squad rebuild under new ownership.

Mudryk made his debut on 21 January 2023 as a substitute against Liverpool at Anfield, impressing with his quick feet and direct style. However, despite a lively start, he struggled to maintain consistent performances during the remainder of the 2022–23 season. Adjusting to the Premier League’s physicality, tactical demands, and life in England proved challenging, with injuries and frequent managerial changes at Chelsea adding to the instability.

He finished the season with no goals but provided two assists, showing flashes of his immense potential.

2023–24 Season

Under new head coach Mauricio Pochettino, Mudryk's second season at Chelsea began with renewed optimism. He scored his first competitive goal for the club on 2 October 2023 in a 2–0 away win against Fulham, netting after a clever run and finish. This goal was seen as a major confidence boost.

Throughout the 2023–24 season, Mudryk gradually grew into a more influential figure for Chelsea. Deployed mainly as a left winger, he showcased his speed and one-on-one ability, while also improving his defensive work rate and decision-making in the final third. His highlight performances included important contributions in Premier League victories and a standout display in the EFL Cup semi-finals.

Although still somewhat inconsistent, Mudryk's adaptation to English football was evident, and he established himself as a regular starter by the second half of the season.

2024–25 Season

Mudryk's contributions have been particularly notable in European competitions, where he has demonstrated his attacking capabilities. In the UEFA Conference League, he has scored 3 goals and provided 3 assists in 4 appearances. In the qualifiers for the same competition, he added another assist over 2 matches. His involvement in domestic competitions has been more limited, with 7 appearances in the Premier League and 2 in the EFL Cup, without any goals but contributing one assist in the latter.

On 17 December 2024, it was announced that the FA had provisionally suspended Mudryk following a positive doping test.

International

Mudryk's senior international career began when he was called up to a training camp with the Ukraine national team in April 2022, held in Slovenia. Shortly after, on 1 June 2022, he made his senior debut in a 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying playoff semi-final against Scotland, a match Ukraine won 3–1.

He scored his first senior international goal on 17 October 2023, netting in a 3–1 win over Malta during UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying.
