The 2010-11 season was Chelsea's 97th of competitive football, and the club's 23rd consecutive season in the top-flight. Despite poor league form, and André Villas-Boas being sacked mid-way through the season after just a few months in charge, the season was highly successful; the Blues won the FA Cup for a seventh time, and the UEFA Champions League for the first time, under interim manager Roberto Di Matteo.
